Anna Karenina "Harvest" A3 Open Edition Multi-Page Page Papercut

This is an open edition, multi-page papercut. Each artwork is cut from 4 pages of "The Greatest Novel Ever Written". Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy.

My papercut focusses themes of connecting with the land and nature: For the character Levin, participating in the harvest is a form of physical and spiritual exercise that connects him to the rhythms of the earth and a natural, organic pace of life. It offers a restorative escape from the frustrating complexities and artificiality of Moscow society and abstract intellectual debates with his brother and friends.

I have cut letters from the page to create one of my favourite lines from the novel - one that I try to embrace as an artist: "If you look for perfection you'll never be content." Although nature comes pretty close to perfection...

The papercut is mounted onto black, acid free 150gsm art paper.

Artwork is signed.

PROOF CUTS
Reduced price proof cuts available. 1 has the line "Spring is the time of plans and projects". The other proof has the line "If you look for perfection you'll never be content.".

Both are 95% perfect and come framed.

The papercut artwork is hand stitched to the background. This technique allows the artwork to be free from the background, providing life, depth and shadow. The fine details of the papercut can be seen using this method.

The artwork is A3 in size (297mm x 420mm)

Framing options available:

Acrylic or hand made wooden box frame

The box frame has a 20mm gap between the artwork and the glass. This allows the artwork to be a three dimensional piece as several sections of the artwork are raised from the surface.
